Hello and welcome to Beech.
Children learn through a mixture of focused adult-led activities and child-initiated activities within our classroom learning areas.
Each area has targets for the children to work at and develop their own skills.
We hope that your child enjoys their time with us and we look forward to working alongside you as they learn and develop.
Welcome back after the half term break. We hope the children are feeling refreshed and ready for a busy and exciting half term.
If you have any questions regarding school matters, please just ask !
Our topic this half term is called ‘’Where the Wild Things Are’.
As well as studying the famous story of the same name, we will be learning about woodland habitats and the animals and plants that live there.
Please see our latest class newsletter for more information about our learning this half term.

Please aim to read with your child at least three times each week and sign his/her reading diary. Please practise blending simple words and recognising tricky words.
Encouraging your child to read the book a second time and discussing the events will consolidate his/her fluency and understanding.
We will change books on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
In our phonics sessions we practise reading both real words and pseudo words (nonsense words). Please click the links below for lists of nonsense words which use the phonic sounds we will be practising in school this year.
