Music at Woodbank...

Our vision is to deliver a curriculum with the core aim of engaging and inspiring children at Woodbank to make, create and love music. To raise their confidence and to achieve their full musical potential. Besides being an enjoyable subject, it can be highly academic and demanding and increases self-discipline and creativity. Music is an integral part of our culture, past and present, and we recognise that it helps pupils understand themselves and relate to others, forging important links between the home, school and the wider world.

We aim to create a music curriculum that is engaging, relevant to and accessible for all our pupils at Woodbank through singing, learning to play tuned and percussion instruments. We will equip children with the skills and musical confidence to compose, appraise and perform musical pieces, in ensembles or on their own, and to hopefully develop a life-long passion for it.
